Temporary Fencing Rental in the Bronx

Bronx construction runs long. NYCHA capital projects. Affordable-housing developments. Multi-phase sites along the Grand Concourse. Most Bronx fencing isn’t a six-week rental. It’s a multi-month or multi-year job across several buildings on one property.

Fencing Work in the Bronx

The Bronx runs bigger, longer jobs than any other borough in our network:

  • NYCHA capital projects:

Phased work across several buildings. Perimeter requirements change as individual buildings enter and leave active construction.

  • Affordable-housing developments:

Longer timelines. Multi-building footprints. The perimeter changes shape as phases complete.

  • Hunts Point industrial and warehouse sites:

Heavier-duty fencing. Longer runs. Larger footprints.

  • Yankee Stadium-area events:

Short-term. Fast turnaround. A different need entirely.

We scope your quote around your actual site type. Not a generic borough default.

Site Access and Setup in the Bronx

The right barrier depends on what you’re separating, the level of vehicle or pedestrian exposure, and how easily the equipment can be placed and moved on site.

Multi-building phased sites:

We plan for relocating sections as each phase opens and closes. We scope this around your full timeline up front. A move from phase one to phase two is planned. Not a change order.

Grand Concourse-adjacent sites:

Wider sidewalks than Manhattan. More vehicle access. Delivery and staging are usually straightforward here.

Hunts Point industrial sites:

Often have their own loading-dock and truck-access patterns. We ask about truck access on every Hunts Point quote.

We ask which of these your site is before quoting.

Meeting NYC Requirements on a Bronx Site

Temporary construction fences in NYC are governed by citywide requirements under NYC Building Code §3307.7. The details that apply to a Bronx site depend on the project, fence location, and surrounding sidewalk conditions.

Sidewalk placement matters too. If a construction fence extends more than 3 feet onto the sidewalk, NYC DOB guidance indicates that a DOT permit is required.

  • 8-foot minimum height
  • Hunter green color, under Local Law 47 of 2013
  • Viewing panels at least once every 25 linear feet

Bronx phased sites work differently. Each relocated section must meet these standards on its own. Not just the original perimeter. Inspectors check whatever’s standing at the time. On a multi-phase NYCHA job, relocation two and three need the same attention as relocation one.

See our Temporary Fence Rental NYC service page for the full breakdown of NYC construction-fence requirements and sidewalk access considerations. This includes sidewalk right-of-way rules. These can affect Bronx sites near narrower commercial strips.
